SCATERNET is a joke browser extension that, while toggled on, rewrites the pages you visit into a ska/scat parody (scat-gibberish text, cartoon images, ska/scat/fart sounds, decorative stains).
None. SCATERNET does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, browsing history, page content, or analytics.
SCATERNET makes no network requests. It has no
host_permissions and no remote servers. Every image and every sound is
bundled inside the extension.
The extension stores a few settings locally in your browser using
chrome.storage.local: whether it is on or off, the volume, whether sound
is muted, and whether it layers audio over videos. This never leaves your device and
is removed when you uninstall the extension.
While toggled on, the extension reads and rewrites the content of the pages you visit entirely locally, inside your browser, to produce the parody. This content is never recorded or sent anywhere.
storage — to remember your on/off and audio settings.<all_urls>) —
required so the novelty can rewrite whatever page you have open while it is on.
